NEXTEP SYSTEMS Announces Record Sales and Earnings in 2013

Troy, Michigan, January 24, 2014 – NEXTEP SYSTEMS, the Foodservice Technology Company™, today announced record sales and earnings for 2013, posting a 50%+ increase in revenue. This marks the eighth consecutive year since inception in 2005 that NEXTEP has shown positive growth and continued profitability.

NEXTEP saw a number of technological accomplishments in 2013 led by the migration of all customer database operations to the cloud. Thousands of customer locations successfully made the transition remotely via NEXTEP's proprietary software update engine with zero interruption in service, effectively eliminating the need for an on-premise database. This provides lower costs, better support and a more reliable system for NEXTEP customers.

The first fully integrated, cloud based Point of Sale (POS) on the market, NEXTEP POS saw further development and continued steady growth into fast casual and QSR markets. Zoup! Fresh Soup Company completed enterprise rollout to all 55 existing locations and will continue to implement NEXTEP solutions in all future stores. Hudson Group also selected NEXTE POS for implementation at multiple Hudson News/Dunkin' Donuts locations, including Penn Station, NYC, where the systems process over 26,000 transactions per week.

The World's Fastest Drive Thru™ all-weather kiosk surpassed 100 locations in 2013. The touchscreen drive thru allows repeat customers to order in seconds with a credit card or phone number, streamlining the order and payment process. The drive thru kiosk offers many financial benefits to fast casual and QSR operators by repurposing labor to fulfillment and customer service roles, while increasing check averages at the drive thru window.

NEXTEP saw exceptional success with new restaurant sales, and with corporate cafeteria sales in partnership with major management companies Sodexo and Compass Group. Recent implementations include some of the largest software and financial institutions in the world.

The past year also saw the launch of a mobile ordering application for Windows Phone 8. NEXTEP has existing applications in the iOS ecosystem with plans to continue to develop for Android in 2014. NEXTEP reported accelerated development of their online ordering product suite as well.
